Hi people,

For some time i've been looking into getting a different then
x86-compatible platform to work with, this for various reasons. Not
allways good reasons, but anyway.

Is there someone who has worked with freescale processors and non-apple
motherboards ? And/Or the pegasos powerpc platform ?

Please, your reply ... if any.

Hi Joris,

At work I have a Pegasos II G3 running Debian Linux and it works great. I
didn't install Debian, the dealer did, so I can't tell you about the install
process, but I can tell you that it works great. I believe that the
standard Debian distribution supports the pegasos directly. I think that
there are links on the pegasos site to the pegasos linux community

Regards,

Shaun

Hi Joris,

Sorry about the job. If you are looking for a low cost powerpc linux setup
you could try a 2nd hand mac and try install mklinux (Linux on top of Mach
microkernel) for example. A 2nd hand powermac 7300 say capable of doing
this costs about $25 in Australia. It might give you something to do
in-between job interviews!

Shaun
